about

The main inspiration behind this song was the the statement by a trans woman in Turkey after she was first sexually harassed and then attacked and beaten by a man in the neighborhood she was residing in. We stand in solidarity with all women and LGBTQ+ people who are suffering and being oppressed every day under patriarchy in a country with widespread rape culture and an oppresive, fascist state which doesn't hesitate to violate basic human rights to stay in power.

lyrics

I don't feel victimized
Earned this triumph in my resistance of one
Agressor's reign shall born dead
Rule of fear will not last
I won't be expelled I'm here to stay
These wounds are not the first, neither they'll be the last
Rip off the hands that reach

I am the defiance
I am victorious
I am the defiance
Until my last breath

Punished for the search of self
Stones rain down on our heads
There will be blood if you don't fit the mold
No rain to ease the pain
All I've ever known is darkness
But my blade is sharpened
I'll be the resistance, I'll be the change
I'll be the one to decide who I am

And I'll meet the reaper before I see myself in chains
Cause I'll never find peace if the mirrors keep me from myself.

I will carry the torches of the deviant
For as long as I am alive and well after then
I'll be the one to decide how I love
I'll be the one to decide who I am
